The Opportunity
Reporting to the VP, People & Equity CHRO, the Director, Total Rewards and HR Operations is entrusted with leading the college in designing, implementing, and managing total rewards programs, including compensation, pensions and benefits, job architecture and recognition. This pivotal role oversees HR systems and operations, ensuring compliance, consistency, and efficiency across the organization. Leading a dynamic team of experts, you will integrate HR functions with Centennial’s People Plan and operational processes, while also providing guidance on executive compensation and pay equity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inclusive Leadership: Foster an inclusive and collaborative culture within the Total Rewards and HR Operations team, providing expertise and guidance on core function while ensuring that diverse perspectives are valued and integrated into decision-making processes.
  • Visionary Strategy: Develop, communicate, and deliver on comprehensive compensation philosophy and strategies, that not only support organizational goals but also promotes equity in attracting, retaining, and motivating a diverse workforce.
  • Empathetic Engagement: Design programs for employee recognition and engagement that celebrate diversity and foster a sense of belonging, while also leading HR analytics for program effectiveness assessment, ensuring equitable outcomes.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Act as a consultant to senior leaders on Total Rewards ad HR Operations issues, providing resources and guidance in addressing complex issues. 

 

Candidate Profile
In addition to the requisite HR experience and proven track record working within a unionized environment, the ideal candidate will possess progressive leadership capabilities. Strong consulting, analytical, and assessment skills are essential, along with a commitment to driving positive change and promoting organizational effectiveness.

 

Qualifications
A Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required, with a CCP or related professional designation considered an asset. A demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and growth in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion is equally valued.
